Foursquare 3.0 is now live. Foursquare is a two-year old popular social site that tracks users travels and allows them to “checkin” to let fellow members know where they are and where they have been. With v 3.0, Foursquare will take all the individual’s collected information and offer up similar suggestions of other nearby similar places to visit.
A new Explorer tab has also been added to Foursquare from which users can search for local recommendations for whatever they are seeking. Think Yelp on steroids. Leveraging the data users have entered, the suggestions Foursquare will make are catered to the individuals predilections, where they have previously visited and where their friends are checked in.
Foursquare also has a badge and point program that 3.0 will take greater advantage of to entice users to interact on a more regular basis. So check in and check it out.
